COWPEAS DOSA OR BOBBARA ATTU

ALASANDALU RECIPE

Ingredients for cowpeas hot dosa or bobbarlu attu or dosa recipe or break fast recipes

1. Cowpeas – 250 grams

2. Onions – 150 grams

3. Ginger – 20 grams

4. Garlic cloves – 4

5. Red chillies – 4

6. Green chillies – 4

7. Oil – sufficient for deep fry

8. Cumin seeds – 1 table spoon

9. Salt – as needed

10. Water – as required

Soak the seeds for breakfast recipes or cowpeas dosa or bobbarlu dosa or dosa recipe

1.Take the cowpeas in a plate and clean them. Pick out the stones from them.

2. Then take the cowpeas into a bowl and wash them in running clean water.

3. Then add 800 ml of water to washed cow peas.

4. Soak the cowpeas for 4 – 6 hours.

1. Wash the onions, ginger and green chillies in running clean water.

2. Remove the stalks of the onions and peel them. Cut the onions into small pieces.

3. Remove the stalks of green chillies and cut them into small slices.

4. Peel the ginger and cut them into small cubes.

5. Remove the stalks of red chillies.

Grind the soaked seeds for cowpeas dosa or bobbara dosa, alasanfalu dosa
1. Drain the soaked cowpeas and take them into a jar of mixer- grinder and add half of the onion pieces, half of the ginger pieces, red chillies, cumin seeds, garlic cloves, salt and sufficient water ( 5 – 10 ml ) to them.

2. Then grind the mixture to a smooth paste. Transfer the paste to a another bowl.

Make cowpeas dosa or alsandalu dosa with the batter

1. Heat a pan to very hot.

2. Sprinkle a little oil.

3. Pour some quantity of cowpeas batter on the pan.

4. Quickly spread it to a thin, even and round layer.

5. Sprinkle the small pieces of onions ginger, green chillies and cumin seeds.

6. Pour a little oil on edges and on the outer surface of batter dosa.

7. When it is cooked well, flif it to the other side and cook.

8. Sprinkle some oil on the dosa and again flif it and cook for some time on low flame.

9. If the dosa is cooked completely and fold it and transfer to a plate and serve with any chutney.

Clean the pan with a clean cloth. Like this make other dosas.

If you like, you can also add grated carrot, fresh coconut and coriander leaves.

Use more oil than other dosa. You can also sprinkle a little garam masala powder on batter dosa.

How to make alsandalu dosa

How to make cowpeas dosa

1. Rinse and soak the cowpeas for four hours.

2. Drain them and grind them with onion, ginger, red chillies, cumin seeds, garlic cloves, salt and sufficient water to a smooth paste.

3. Heat a pan to smoky hot and sprinkle oil on it. Pour a ladleful of batter on the middle of the pan.

4. Quickly spread it to a thin, even and round layer.

5. Sprinkle the small pieces of onions ginger, green chillies and cumin seeds.

6. Pour a little oil on edges and on the outer surface of batter dosa.

7. When it is cooked well, flif it to the other side and cook.

8. Sprinkle a little oil on the dosa and again flif it and cook for some time on low flame.

9. Fold it and transfer to a plate and serve with any chutney.

Cowpeas dosa is very flavorful.

Notes for dosa recipe or cowpeas dosa

1. Frash ingredients should be used for good taste.

2. Make dosa as a thin layer.

3. If dosa is not cooked, cook it on low flame for some more time.

4. The quantity of ingredients can be changed according to your taste and opinion.

5. You can also sprinkle a little garam masala powder on the surface of batter dosa. This dosa also a very delicious.

6. Instead of cowpeas, coated dal of cowpeas can be used. The cowpeas dal also give a good taste.

We can make cowpeas hot balls with the cowpeas batter also. Take some quantity of batter and leave them in heated oil as balls. Fry them well on all sides on medium and low flames. Remove from the oil and drain them. Now cowpeas fritters or cowpeas hot balls are to serve with any chutney. These are also very delicious.
